Last month I went to the NY International Gift Fair and was overwhelmed by the choices I had to make. There were almost 7000 exhibitors and I could only buy from a handful. I’m still filling out purchase orders!
Here is my number one favorite find of my two day adventure in to gift buying: Spectrix Card Game!
I was wowed by the shape, feel and color of the cards as well as the exquisite packaging. The game seemed fun too! Here’s a simplified version of the rules (cut and pasted from the company’s website):
Build and expand groups of beautiful color sequences. Mix and match your own and other players’ cards into strategic groups to be the first to play your entire hand. It’s not as easy as it seems! Complete and collapse a spectrum into “white light” to increase your chances of winning. For ages 8 and up.
Not surprisingly, this game has won numerous awards since it was introduced to the gaming world this past spring. I only ordered a few but now I’m debating if I should have gotten more. I think it would be a great gift for graphic designers, artists or any one who loves color. What do you think? Smart buy?
