A representative for The Ohio Art Company said sales of their Etch A Sketch has soared thanks to a gaff by Romney spokesperson, Eric Fehrnstrom. On March 21 Fehrnstrom said, “You hit a reset button for the fall campaign. Everything changes. It’s almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can shake it up and we start all over”. While the exact meaning of his words are still being debated, Ohio Art has offered Mr. Fehrnstrom a position with the company and the corporate lunch room created a triple decker bologna sandwich after him.
The Etch A Sketch was introduced to the United States in 1960 and has received numerous awards throughout the years including a coveted spot in the National Toy Hall of Fame. Always a popular plaything for children, it is now enjoying bipartisan popularity among adults.
